Britney Spears Shocks Fans With Sex Revelations

BRITNEY SHOCKS WITH SEX TALK.

BRITNEY SPEARS shocked fans with candid sex talk on her new US reality home video show BRITNEY & KEVIN: CHAOTIC on Tuesday night (17MAY05), when she quizzed her crew about their favourite sexual positions.

Filmed during her British tour stops on last year's (04) ONYX HOTEL TOUR, just before she started courting new husband and Chaotic co-star KEVIN FEDERLINE, the pop star asked bouncers, roadies, stylists and dancers how they liked their sex, while filming them on her video camera.

When the camera turned to Spears' best friend and long-time assistant FELICIA CULOTTA, who initiated the sex question, she said, "I don't know, I've never had it.". And Britney, a one-time famous virgin, couldn't answer either because she worried about her family seeing the tape.

She giggled, "Mom, just ignore this whole part, and dad too, and JAMIE LYNN (sister) too. I'm not gonna answer that."

Kelly Slates Skinny Friends

Kelly Osbourne has spoken about her alarm at how skinny one of her famous friends has become. The singer says her buddy's recent weight loss made her feel sick and she's frankly fed up with the whole thin thing.

Without naming any names, Kelly described her shock and disappointment at the recent trend for less is more."Take a look at some of the young actresses who are really popular now. "They've responded to the pressure to always look good by whittling themselves down so extremely that looking fat - from even the worst angle - is pretty near impossible," Teen Hollywood reports her as saying."Sure, they're beautiful in photographs, but when you see them in person, they look hungry and miserable.

"It's so disturbing because some of these girls are my friends, and they're starving themselves... There's one in particular I think of often."I saw her last summer and I remember thinking, 'You're so beautiful, you're at the most perfect weight.'"Then I ran into her in the winter and she literally looked near death. I was like, 'What are you doing to yourself? You're 18 years old.'"

Gretchen Wilson Wins Two Country Awards

By TOM GARDNER

Associated Press Writer

LAS VEGAS (AP) -- A brash newcomer, an Australian and a newlywed recording veteran took away the top honors at the 40th annual Academy of Country Music Awards.

Gretchen Wilson won for both female vocalist and best new artist despite a sometimes in-your-face approach to the Nashville establishment.

Australian Keith Urban took male vocalist and album awards and Kenny Chesney was named entertainer of the year, just eight days after his surprise marriage to actress Renee Zellweger, who was on a movie set and missed Tuesday night's show.

Two poignant songs paid off for Tim McGraw and for Brad Paisley and Alison Krauss, who took home two trophies each.

Chesney laughed off questions about his marriage after the show, saying only that he would spend his evening going to a party and doing a little gambling.

"This is very special, no doubt about that. The magnitude of it is going to hit me about 2 o'clock in the morning after a couple of drinks," he said. "I won my first award at the academy and it's always a real special place."

Urban and Wilson were stunned by their awards.

"I'm just blown away that we've come to this point," Urban said from Belfast, Northern Ireland, where he was touring. "If there's just one award that I could have picked to win, it's album of the year."

Wilson, who flaunted a no-nonsense attitude in her breakout hit "Redneck Woman," cried as she accepted the female vocalist of the year trophy, ending a three-year run for Martina McBride.

"I don't even really know what to say, except for thank you," Wilson said. Backstage, she choked up again, saying, "It's been an amazing year for me."

McGraw - nominated in a leading six categories - took top single and song honors for his hit "Live Like You Were Dying," which has special meaning for him because his father, former pro baseball pitcher Tug McGraw, died of cancer last year.

The awards show had an international flavor. Along with Urban in Belfast, camouflage-clad Toby Keith performed "As Good as I Once Was" for a crowd of clapping U.S. troops in Iraq, saying "Welcome to honky-tonk university, ya'll. We're in Baghdad."

Paisley and Krauss took video and vocal event honors for their haunting duet "Whiskey Lullaby." Paisley said he had initially been concerned that radio wouldn't play the song because of its dark themes.

"It's death and drinking. It's summertime for God's sake," he said.

Veterans Brooks & Dunn beat out several newcomers for top vocal duo, their record 19th career award.

"This far down the road, it really feels good ... they call your name out time after time," Ronnie Dunn said.

Another veteran, Faith Hill, ended a five-year absence from the awards show with a performance of "Mississippi Girl." Wearing a sheer green blouse and jeans, Hill looked rejuvenated as she pumped her fist and strutted across the stage.

Retired superstar Garth Brooks was greeted by more than 20 seconds of applause as he walked onstage to honor his friend Chris LeDoux, who died March 9 of liver cancer.

"I'm not saying you're saying this but, I've missed you too," Brooks told the crowd, doffing his cowboy hat.

The Humanitarian Award went to Neal McCoy, who said he was "tickled to death."

Trophies were presented in 12 categories over three hours, allowing the performance-driven CBS telecast from the Mandalay Bay Resort to focus as much on entertainment as awards.

The honors were determined by the 3,000 members of the California-based academy, except for the humanitarian and video awards, which were decided by fans.

'Hollaback' Has Singles Chart Staying Power

By Barry A. Jeckell, N.Y.

Gwen Stefani's "Hollaback" has again fended off all comers to remain the No. 1 single in the United States. For a fourth consecutive week, the cut tops Billboard's Hot 100, as well as the Pop 100 (four weeks) and the Hot Digital Songs (five) charts.

A former threat in Ciara's "Oh" featuring Ludacris is starting to fade, but Mariah Carey's "We Belong Together" is picking up steam across several Billboard charts.

Christina Snubs Britney In Marriage Invite

Christina Aguilera is refusing to invite Britney Spears to her wedding - in retaliation for being snubbed when her pop rival married Kevin Federline.

The Dirrty singer doesn't want one-time Disney Club pal Spears to be present when she marries fiance Jordan Bratman because she is still smarting after being left off the guest list for the Toxic singer's nuptials last September (04).

Aguilera says, "There's no way she's getting an invite to my wedding. She snubbed me so I'm going to snub her too." TIT FOR TAT.

According to source, Pamela said, "Paris is, funny. Last time I met her we were in a restaurant together and she slammed the menu down and screamed - 'I hate reading! Someone tell me what's on the menu!"

Saddam to write his memoirs from jail

London: Ousted Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein has decided to write his memoirs from an Iraqi jail where he is awaiting trial for more than 20 years of abuses, a British newspaper reported, quoting one of his lawyers.

Giovanni di Stefano, a member of Hussein's legal team, decided in recent weeks to start writing about his childhood in Iraq, his early exile to Egypt and his military adventures in Iran and Kuwait, the Financial Times reported.

He will try to embarrass the great powers that once saw him as a useful buffer against the expansionist ambitions of Iran after the 1979 Islamic revolution, di Stefano was quoted as saying. He will tell how France and Britain betrayed him by also helping Iran's Islamic republic during the 1980-1988 war with Iraq. "There will be quite considerable detail," distefano was quoted as saying. Bangalore gears up for first international marathon

Bangalore May 16, 2005

The first Lipton Bangalore International Marathon was held in the city on Sunday. Some 18,000 marathoners turned up, giving the event much respectability, and perhaps the organisers, confidence that as a brand event the city will welcome it again.

Enthusiasts could choose from three parts of the marathon depending on lung power and celebrity status -- the full marathon (42.195 km), a half marathon (21.097 km) and a celebrity run (seven km).

Thousands of enthusiasts ran, from the Kanteerava stadium to Raj Bhavan, Mehkri Circle, Hebbal flyover, the outer ring-road, HRBR Layout, Banaswadi, Kasturi Nagar and back.

The main event was flagged off first, at 6 am, the half marathon next, a half hour later and the celebrity run around 9.30 am. Chief minister Dharam Singh flagged off the celebrity event and corporate participants included senior executives of various firms in the city.

The marathon takes its name from a battlefield in Greece where in 490 BC, the Greeks of the nation-state Athens fought and defeated a vastly superior-in-numbers Persian army.

Legend has it that Philippides (also referred to by the name of Pheidippides), a messenger sent to Athens to announce the victory, ran the 25-odd miles from the battlefield, said “rejoice, we conquer” and immediately fell down dead.

Modern historians, however feel that there is evidence to show that Philippides was actually dispatched to Sparta, another Greek nation-state and often a rival of Athens, to seek help against the Persians. Philippides is said to have run 150 miles in two days on that errand.

The Athenians though decided to not wait for help to arrive and surprised the Persians in the midst of their preparations for battle.

The modern marathon, started, when after the 1896 Olympics, five runners ran the distance Philippides is said to have covered, to celebrate his feat. US athletes took its story back to Boston with infectious enthusiasm and the rest, as the phrase goes, is history.

K C Ramu, originally from Bangalore, now working in Pune, won Sunday’s race.

Pam and Jim, "The Office": It’s not like NBC’s little sleeper hit needed the extra buzz, but the always unspoken longing between these two Dunder Mifflin coworkers has garnered more attention than a box of free Krispy Kremes on a conference-room table. What’s so appealing? For one, receptionist Pam (Jenna Fischer) and sales rep Jim (John Krasinski) are adorable, but they’re both a bit shlumpy, not the usual TV cute. And their tension is played for drama, not laughs – unless of course TMI-loving boss Michael is around, at which point the laughs are painfully spot-on. Plus, Fischer has said she’d like Pam to end up with Jim rather than marrying dull-but-dependable Roy. Krasinski, like his character, isn’t as convinced it’ll happen. So cute! They’re acting almost like, dare we say, a couple in the making.

Ross and Rachel, "Friends": These two often played their seasons-long romantic tension for drama as well. But the much-loved “Friends” duo, who connected and split up enough times that they verged on self-parody, provide some valuable lessons in TV coupledom. Lesson No. 1: You can only drag the tension out for so long. About the time Ross (David Schwimmer) had helped Rachel (Jennifer Aniston) deliver her baby, you started thinking, "Enough!" Lesson No. 2: Once you get together, you can’t go back. Each time you flip the love connection on and off like a light switch, the stakes are raised. A show that banks on tensions like these had better have a whole closet full of story arcs in reserve.

Will and Grace, "Will & Grace": Well, here’s a couple in no danger of hooking up. That Grace (Debra Messing) and Will (Eric McCormick) were originally together in college – prior to Will coming out – was a brilliant upending of Lesson No. 2 (see "Friends"), and set the stage for the two to explore the emotional nuances of their very copdendent relationship without falling back on the usual tropes. Grace has endured love and even marriage, and Will has endeavored to find romance too, but the show hinges on a mutual emotional reliance so strong that it dominates their relationships with anyone else.

Maddie and Dave, “Moonlighting”: A show that demonstrates the inherent conflict between Lessons 1 and 2. "Moonlighting’s" regular viewership was built on the slow-burning attraction between private eyes Dave (Bruce Willis) and Maddie (Cybill Shepherd), who preceded Mulder and Scully in showing the world that sleuthing is even more fun when you’d like your partner to be just that ... in every sense of the word. The charged banter between the two was absolutely pivotal to ABC’s mid-‘80s hit -- and then they promptly destroyed it all by sleeping together. The final two seasons were spent trying to recover from this slip, but all the pregnancies, contrived romances and trips to Chicago in the world couldn’t put things right again.

Simon and Paula, "American Idol": Yeah, yeah, it’s all about the singing. Honestly, where would "Idol" be without Simon skewering every hopeful young thang who dares stand on stage, with only dippy cheerleader Paula to defend them? That clash of opposites is pure gold, which is why Simon and Paula’s bickering and endless sniping make them seem like they’re either an old married couple or else sublimating a heckuva lot of sexual energy. What’s next: Passing mash notes under the judges’ table? Paula’s endless dating woes only add fuel to this fire. Yet ... if they were actually an item, "Idol’s" spark would fizzle as fast as William Hung’s 14.5 minutes of fame.
